Properties:
Hyperoxyvet is trade name of oxytetracycline. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic. It inhibits bacteria, Mycoplasma sPP, and Chlamydia sPP. the Rickettsia, and some protozoa. Oxytetracyclines have good activity against many Gram-positive Bacteria, except for Enterococci and group D Streptococci. The activity against Staphylococcus aureus is limited by Resistance. Many non-enteric gram-negative bacteria are sensitive but a Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacteriaceae are usually resistant. Many Anaerobic bacteria, Mycoplasma spp. And Spirochetes are susceptible. Chlamydia SPP, Rickettsia, Protozoa as Theileria spp., and Anaplasma spp., are all sensitive oxytetracycline generally acts as bacteriostatic antibiotics and inhibits protein synthesis by reversibly binding to 30S ribosomal subunits of susceptible organisms, preventing binding to those ribosomes of aminoacyl transfer-RNA.
