Composition: Each tablet contains:

Oxytetracycline hydrochloride 539.6 mg (Eq. to Oxytetracycline base 500 mg).

Properties:
Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic with a bacteriostatic action. It is mainly active against
Gram-positiveas (Staphylococcus spp. & Streptococcus spp and Erysipelothrix spp.) and Gram negative
bacteria as (Salmonella spp. & Escherichia coli and Pasteurella spp), aerobic and anaerobic, as well as
against mycoplasma, the Chlamydia and Rickettsiae.
The oxytetracycline links reversibly to the ribosomal subunit 30S receptors,
the union between aminoacyl-tRNA to the site corresponding to the mRNA-ribosome complex massenger
. It results in an inhibition of the protein synthesis and inhibits bacterial growth.

Indication:

• Treatment of the following diseases of beef and dairy calves caused by organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline:
• Bacterial enteritis caused by Salmonella typhimurium
• Colibacillosis caused by Escherichia coli
• Shipping fever complex, pasteurellosis caused by Pasteurella multocida.
• Uterine Infection and retained placenta in cow , mares ,ewes and bitches.

Dosage:

• Beef (pre-ruminating) and dairy calves (non lactating & pre-ruminating):Administer orally 1 Tablet per 49 kg of body weight every 12 hours for up to four consecutive days.
• Dosage should continue until the animal returns to normal and for 24 to 48 hours after symptoms have subsided. Treatment should not exceed four consecutive days.
